Who we are

UNFOLD PLANE is an interdisciplinary architecture practice that focuses on architectural design, space design, interior design, landscape design, exhibition curating, urban design and so forth. Meanwhile, U-P! is actively engaging in the academic researches to seek the potential synthesis between media, technology and architecture. By unfolding the two dimensional working plane to a multidimensional spatial canvas, U-P! attempts to reveal the concealed relationships between matters, which cultivates the confluence of convention and forthcoming in architecture, art, culture and technology.

UNFOLD PLANE 建筑事务所是一家跨学科建筑事务所，专注于建筑设计、空间设计、室内设计、景观设计，展陈设计、城市设计等。同时对前述内容，进行学术性研究。并积极探索新媒体，新技术与建筑学相结合的可能性。通过将二维工作平面展开构成多维空间画布，U-P! 在不断尝试揭开事物间隐藏的联系，以寻求在建筑、艺术、文化及科技领域将 “传统与创新” 相互融合。

It’s an architecture office based in Los Angeles, Chicago and Hangzhou, founded by Zhoufan Chen, Shundi Zhan, with global perspective, in order to incubate the interdisciplinary relationship between conventional and contemporary notion by unfolding the “plane”, “perspective” and “perception” in concept-wise, material-wise, technology-wise and culture-wise.

它由陈舟凡，占舜迪共同创立，以全球视野设立位于洛杉矶、芝加哥、杭州等地的工作室。寻求在空间层面、概念层面、材料层面、科技层面以及文化层面，通过展开“平面”、“视角”、“感知”，建立 “传统” 与 “创新” 交融的跨学科联系。

Zhoufan is the design partner of UNFOLD PLANE, who has been practicing architecture and relative design field for over 7 years internationally, including US, China and other regions. He is a registered architect in United States. With an interdisciplinary perspective, he pursues design innovation via computational programming, experience crafting and artistic imagining and academic thinking in shaping the form, space, material and perception for architecture and design, which guides the interdisciplinary researches in the studio together with Shundi.
